If you don't like the weather, wait 2 minutes!

What is up with this weather we are having? I think the world is going to come to an end.

So on Sunday it was in the 70's and Monday it got up to 80. Tuesday it started out at 65 and then in 5 minutes time it plummeted to 42!!! A 40 degree difference in 2 days! I had left the house on Tuesday and didn't even bring a coat or anything, thinking it was pretty warm out. Silly me should have realized I live in Wisconsin....if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes and it will change.

But I took advantage of the great weather. Sunday as a family we went for a walk and went to the park. It was great to get out and I know Ryan had a blast at the park. It was great to get his energy out in the outdoors, and boy did he sleep good that night too! When we got back home I took an extra walk with the stroller so that I could get some extra excercise.

Monday the kids and I spent almost all day outside. Another walk, the park, and lots of time just playing in the yard. It felt so good to be in the sunshine and fresh air....it felt like summer. I really can't wait for the nice weather to stick around. It did wonders for my mood!

And now we are back to cold weather and lots of rain again. ick. At least we had fun while it lasted.

I'm back

For now anyway.

I'm finally starting to feel more like myself again. My meds are finally kicking in and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Let there be light!!!

Kyle is doing great. He is growing so much!! It's hard to believe he's already 7 weeks old. The time really has flown by. He has gained tons of weight and eats like a champ. The kid will eat me out of house and home I swear! He's also finally starting to sleep longer stretches at night. I will post some updated pics in the next few days. Because I've been pretty "out of it" the last few weeks I haven't kept updated on much....so I'm trying to catch up on everything computer related as well as home related. (I haven't cleaned my house in weeks).

Ryan is doing well. He has been loving spending tons of time with grandma and grandpa lately while I've been trying to deal with my own issues. I think he's gotten a bit spoiled by them. He's also looking forward to the weather turning warmer.

Spring is almost here!!! woo hoo!! Well, technically spring IS here....now only if it would stop raining long enough for us to go outside for a bit! I could use a good walk. Or a trip to the park. Something to get the kids outside and active.

So anyway, I hope to be able to be back to my normal posting schedule again. I hope to post a few times a week--at least if I can come up with interesting things to talk about.

Yes, I have been MIA as of recent. I hope to be back posting on a regular basis very soon.

To let you know what I've been up to...besides taking care of a very active preschooler and a newborn....

I have been experiencing postpartum depression. I was hoping to avoid it this time around...and thought I may have been in the clear as the first 3 weeks were great. But no such luck. Around the 3rd week I started to feel depressed, anxious, sad, lonely, scared. I was hoping it would pass, but it continued to get worse.
So I started medication last week and unfortunately, had to discontinue nursing. I truly miss it, but it was the best decision for me...I had to do it for my own emotional well being.

Now I'm starting to feel better. Not 100% yet mind you, but enough that I'm able to cope with things much better. I'm starting to enjoy being a mom again.

I had severe PPD when I had Ryan. It was a horrible horrible experience and I never wanted to be in the dark place again. Luckily I caught it early enough this time that I didn't get that bad.

So that's what's been going on with me.

I hope to be back to my normal happy posting self shortly!

Writing

Remember the book I was once writing? I'm still attempting to write it. I WANT to write it. Unfortunately I haven't had any time as of recent to write.
Which is sad since I'm almost done with the first draft. I only have a few more chapters left to write and I'm done with the whole first draft.

I really miss writing. It is my outlet. It is my "me" time. It's my escape from reality. I actually ache to write again. It's like this need I have that I can't meet.

I know eventually I will get time to get back to it again. Right now since I'm up several times a night I'd much rather sleep when I can. Give it about another month or two and things hopefully will settle down a bit so I can get my "me" time again. I want to get back to my characters and try to publish this thing. I have ideas for more books too.

Just wanted to let you know how the progress of my book is coming along. Obviously not very. LOL But I will get back to it...I promise!!

To answer some questions....

Apparently there are quite a few people out there that are looking up my blog wanting to find out what happened to simplymoms. Almost every day there seems to be at least one person who happened upon my blog looking for it. I hadn't realized SM was really that popular.

Anyway, for those that are nosy and want to know, here's the scoop.

I'm not going into any major details or anything, but basically what happened was creative differences between the staff and the admin. When some drama went down on the board itself, the admin decided she didn't want to deal with all the stuff anymore and opted to shut down the board and spend more time with her family. That was back in Dec and it has been down since. I don't see it coming back anytime soon. Tha'ts all that needs to be said.

But for those that are looking for a new parenting message board, I am a moderator at a really cool one called "The Mommy Lobby". Check it out. If you are looking for someone in particular that used to be on SM, you may find them here. Many of the former members went on to this board.

Simplymoms was great for the 5 years it was in existence. But things change and life goes on. Hope to see you at TML!

Yes I know. I'm not here very often. Honestly, I'm trying to post more frequently. It's hard getting time for the computer these days. But I should get more time soon as we start getting into more of a routine and I'm not as tired.

Here is Ryan feeding Kyle a bottle. I am mainly breastfeeding, but we are working on doing a bottle a day or every other day. Ryan has wanted to feed Kyle a bottle since the day he first found out we were having a baby! He's such a proud big brother!

And here is Kyle at 1 month old. We have yet to see a smile, but I know it's coming soon.
